Methods

Study design:Test-negative
Description of participants: Adults (15+ year old) twithout previous SARS-CoV-2 infection hat were tested for SARS-CoV-2 during July 2021 in a single county in USA.
Inclusion criteria:
  • 15+ year olds that tested between July 1st and July 31st 2021 with an FDA EUA approved polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) or antigen test

Exclusion criteria:
  • Previous SARS-CoV-2 infection. Cases reported via electronic case reporting were not included for the following reasons: 1) eCR results are biased towards positive tests, 2) eCR testing primarily occurs within congregate settings and special populations where the prevalence of immunization, prevalence of testing, and prevalence of disease are often different from the general population (i.e. known or suspected effect modification).
