Methods	Study design:Test-negative Description of participants: Adults aged 16 years or older living in England Inclusion criteria: COVID-19 symptomatic people from the age of 16 available COVID-19 vaccination status PCR-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection or negative SARS-CoV-2 PCR test persons who had reported symptoms and PCR-testing within 10 days of symptom onset Exclusion criteria: Individuals who had previously tested positive (PCR or antibody) prior to vaccination mixed course of two different vaccines interval of <19 days between first and second doses Follow-up duration (months): 9.00

General comment	Almost all confounding domains were controlled in analysis or design, except symptoms at the time of intended vaccination. There is some potential for selection bias inherent to test-negative designs.
